Attendance

Service Description

Instructors teaching in one of the ACF instructional labs may request automated attendance reports delivered via email to the instructor’s university email account.

The process works by having a script query a database to find the names of logged on users at a pre-selected time during a class period.

As an example, a class might meet from 10 am to 11:30 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. An instructor might indicate he would like attendance taken at 10:15.

During each class period an automated process will then be triggered at 10:15, and everyone who is logged on to a computer is added to a list which is then formatted as an attendance report.

The attendance report is emailed to the instructor (and/or teaching assistants).

Availability

Please allow 1-2 business days for the attendance reports to be set up for your class.

Note: We do not have the resources to go back in time and re-generate old reports, or to check past log on data for specific students.

On Demand Attendance

Our attendants have the ability to create an attendance report on demand for occasional use. This capability is intended for rare cases – such as if you have a class meeting at an unexpected time, or if you only need attendance taken a handful of times during the semester. If you want attendance taken every class, or every week, please put in an attendance request.

If you find that you need on demand attendance, please go to the counter and ask an attendant to generate a report for you.
